Conocida como “la Venecia del norte”, Brujas, es principalmente visitada por su belleza histórica.               

A pesar de los daños hechos a la pintoresca ciudad en un pasado, la mayoría de la arquitectura céntrica quedó intacta y el resto fue restaurada, debido a esto se convirtió en un gran atractivo turístico europeo.

Los lugares más interesantes para visitar son Belfort, el encantador campanario de Bélgica, construido en 1220 y reconstruido varias veces luego de algunos incendios y la Plaza Mayor, llamada Grote Markt, con una estatua en el centro homenajeando a Pieter de Coninck y Jan Breydel y envuelto de casas medievales a su alrededor con hermosos colores cálidos y figura escalonada en las puntas, también se hallan hoteles y restaurantes donde se disfruta de una vista a la plaza.

Aparte de estos lugares, Brujas posee sus característicos canales, molinos y museos de la región, como el museo Gruuthuse, un monumento para la antigua familia de mismo nombre, los dominantes del comercio cervecero de la época.

The historic northwest of Belgium

Known as "the Venice of the north", Bruges is mainly visited for its historical beauty. Despite the damage done to the picturesque city in the past, most of the downtown architecture remained intact and the rest was restored. Because of this, Bruges became a major European tourist attraction.

One of the most interesting places to visit is Belfort, the charming Belgian bell tower, built in 1220 and rebuilt several times after some fires. Another is the Main Square, called Grote Markt, with a statue in the centre honouring Pieter de Coninck and Jan Breydel, surrounded by medieval houses with beautiful warm colours, and staggered figures at the extremes. There are also hotels and restaurants where you can enjoy a view of the square. Apart from these places, Bruges has its characteristic canals, mills and museums of the region, such as the Gruuthuse museum, a monument to the old family of the same name, the dominant beer trade at the time.
